Make a Difference, Become a Volunteer.
Join with Us in Creating a Better World, One Community at a Time
As a chapter of EWB-USA, our volunteers come from engineering, education, medicine, accounting and other fields to help people solve some often very basic but essential engineering challenges, such as providing clean water. Our projects come from a pool of projects requested by people in Community-Based Organizations and NGOs worldwide.
The local people themselves provide the sweat equity and 5% of the costs, providing them with the satisfaction of improving their community while we provide the know-how and guidance. Working together, we help improve daily life in the communities we have selected as projects. Our chapter has active projects in Sierra Leone and the Dominican Republic.
The work itself is challenging and requires creativity, and you would be working with consummate professionals, most with a background in engineering, project management, and related fields. Skillsets in our group include all types of engineering and biology, chemistry, health sciences, social sciences, languages, and communications.
YOU DON'T NEED TO BE AN ENGINEER TO JOIN
We need all kinds of professional skills for our projects. Professional engineers, engineering students, and others in the Lehigh Valley and the surrounding region who would like to be part of the solution are invited to join our chapter. We need people with a wide variety of technical and non-technical skills. One very important skill we need is people with experience in fundraising.
